Gene Simmons for a day

Everyone has a "hero" per say. Some of us kids have a certain super hero that they like to pretend to be like. Gene Simmons is not a super-hero, he's a rock-n-roll icon. KISS has been touring the world for many years and the face that stands out as the face of the band is always Gene Simmons. To me, when I see him in full make up, he commands the attention of on-lookers. Although, alot of them go WTF am I looking at. So, after almost two years of searching, hunting, and being disappointed, I got the full costume I was looking for. I had bought a mask also, but I think my wife did an outstanding job with my makeup.

I have got to dress up as Gene Simmons 3 times for this Halloween. The first for our company Halloween party, I won second prize. I lost to a really hack job drag queen. The second time was for my wife's Halloween party, I won second prize. I lost to Jack the Ripper. The third and final time was for Halloween, to go trick or treating and be at my haunted yard. I took my 1, 2, and 10 y/o nieces along with my 10 y/o son, 15 y/o daughter, and my wife. My little niece were terrified at first, then they realized it was me and warmed right up. Trick or grating was fun, imagine Gene Simmons walking down your street with a bunch of ghouls. It was too much fun.

This year is over, it is time to press forward and think really big for next year. I am thinking maybe Santa Claws. My wife can be Mrs. Claws, and my kids can be the demonic elves. My wife asked me if I was going to sell my Gene Simmons costume and try to recoup some of my money. My answer was hell no because I never know when the occassion might rise again to be a rock-n-roll super hero.
